Burberry

Burberry is a luxury fashion brand who have a global presence with a strong focus on outerwear.

As part of the product development team, I played a key role in bridging design, technical, and merchandising functions to deliver commercially viable, design-led products. My focus was on translating creative concepts into accurate, production ready specifications while ensuring efficiency, quality, and margin performance.

Deliverables

  • Design translation : Partnered closely with the design team to convert initial sketches and creative concepts into clear, detailed technical packs for supplier use.

  • Technical Development : Collaborated with product technologists to establish accurate size specifications and construction details.

  • Prototype Co-ordination : Organised and led prototype review sessions with design and merchandising teams.

  • Data and Process Management : Maintained up-to-date product data and documentation within Centric PLM, ensuring transparency and accessibility for all stakeholders.

  • Margin Optimisation : Once styles were approved for production, collaborated with merchandising to review cost breakdowns and identify margin improvement opportunities through design or sourcing adjustments.
